Senior administrators attempted to end confusion about proposed changes to be made in the University's budget over the next seven years during a special faculty meeting on Dec.


Dance group B'Yachad files police report after sign in Usdan is defaced

The Hillel member group B'Yachad filed a police report last month saying that their bulletin board in lower Usdan was vandalized repedeatly, most recently last month.According to Elizabeth Cape, B'Yachad's publicity coordinator, the incidents began last spring but increased in severity in recent months, even as the group took measures to make such vandalism more difficult.Cape said she filed the police report after two related incidents that occurred in mid-November.


Interviews of final four diversity candidates underway

After a nationwide search, the University is conducting interviews this month with candidates for the position of assistant dean of student life with support for diversity.The position, formerly titled, "assistant dean of Student Life and coordinator for diversity services," became vacant with the departure during the summer of the Rev.

Union representatives to the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee reported that there are minors in politics and history which require five courses each.


ZaHaV speaker cancelled for security reasons

A reformed Palestinian terrorist who was scheduled to speak here on Nov. 1 was unable to deliver his lecture after administrators voiced concerns about event security, according to the leaders of Zionists for Historical Veracity (ZaHaV). ZaHaV, a campus group who sponsored the event, was reportedly forced to postpone the visit of Walid Shoebat, a former member of the Palestine Liberation Organization because University administrators said logistical security concerns had not yet been addressed.ZaHaV President Elana Lichtenstein '05 said that her group had been planning for this speaker to come for over six weeks, and that all logistical elements were in place.

Reich: 'Reason' will win battle for America

In what he called, "the most political book I have ever written," Prof. Robert Reich (HS) spoke to a crowd of about 150 yesterday about his new book titled, Reason: Why liberals will win the battle for America.In his book, Reich argues that the "Radcons," (radical conservatives) who represent the far right of America, do not formulate their position based on reason and the values which he deems important.


German ambassador speaks on a post 9/11 world

Addressing various issues of German-American relations in the post-Sept. 11 world, German ambassador to the United States Wolfgang Ischinger spoke to a crowd of around 60 in the Alumni Lounge last Tuesday.Ischinger spent most of his time discussing the effects of Sept.
