More than eight months after B-movie actress Lana Clarkson was found dead in the Los Angeles home of Phil Spector, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office announced on Thursday its decision to charge Spector with homicide. Spector revolutionized music in the 60s with his "Wall of Sound" technique, which involved bringing in multitudes of studio musicians to bolster the original songs. Spector's most famous works include albums by The Beatles and The Ramones. The whole scandal began in February when police responded to a 911 call directing them to Spector's home. Clarkson was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, and Spector immediately fell under suspicion. The investigation picked up after police determined that Spector owned the gun that killed Clarkson. After being arrested and released on $1 million bail, Spector continued to hurt his own case in the eyes of the public by telling a journalist he considered himself "relatively insane" and claiming that Clarkson actually killed herself.
