The Justice and justArts would like to take a moment to reflect on the memory of folk-punk singer/songwriter Elliott Smith. Smith died late last Tuesday night, allegedly by his own hand. His apparent suicide has been all but confirmed by the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department. The indie rock icon was working on his sixth album, "From A Basement On A Hill," when he died. His record label, Dreamworks Records, issued this statement on Wednesday:"We are deeply saddened by Elliott Smith's tragic death and send our condolences to his friends and family. He was perhaps his generation's most gifted songwriter. His enormous talent could change our life in a whisper. We will miss him.
