Student studying abroad in Scotland receives a culture shock

EDINBURGH-"An American in Scotland" just doesn't have the same ring. And for good reason: The culture shock felt by an American in Scotland is minor, especially compared to other European destinations where even the language is different.Still, studying abroad this semester in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, I find that I have to get used to many aspects of Scottish culture.


Tommy' odd, not outstanding

The Who's Tommy, produced by the Brandeis Department of Theater Arts and currently being performed at Spingold Theater, takes the audience on a magical and psychedelic journey.


Classic rock makes comeback with Cream

Cream was a band from England that existed for a very short time in the late 1960's. Consisting of Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, they were an explosive part of the British Invasion.


Royal City makes accidental lullabye

Little Heart's Ease the new album from Royal City is disappointingly lackluster and boring. While any of the songs alone would be enjoyable to listen to, the album has no variety whatsoever.


Muse should be on your shopping list

Muse is a hard rock/punk band. Consistingof Matthew Bellamy (piano, vocals, guitar), Dominic Howard (drums and percussion) and Chris Wolstenholme (bass). They have a lot of potential, but are lacking in polish.
