LETTER OF RESIGNATION: 'I hope we all learned something'
I'd like to thank those people whose hearts and minds stayed in the right
places throughout this whole ordeal. I originally wanted to use this letter of resignation to explain to the
Brandeis community how legitimate anger was illegitimately placed on the shoulders of the Justice Editorial Board.
I wanted to explain how sick it made me when 80 furious students felt they needed to scream, "We're not niggers!" on Monday night.
I wanted to explain how the duplicity of certain members of the
Administration led to my resignation on false pretenses.
I wanted to say how much the Justice has always meant to me, and how
precarious its future now looks with five editors suddenly absent from its
masthead.
I wanted to say Brandeisians should not attempt to rip apart the Justice
for mistakenly printing reprehensible sentiments in our pages, but should demand to know from each other why such sentiments exist in our community.
I genuinely wanted to do all of this, but I was busy putting together a
newspaper.
I guess some things are just more important than others.
But I do hope we all learned something from these ten long days; I'm told that's what we're here to do.
