In his latest photojournalism project, “A Bit of Color,” Vicente Cayuela ’22 documented the changes that the arts community at Brandeis has been going through in the past few months.
Vestiges of cruelty loom around every corner, yet the exceptional loneliness of the landscape is far from terrifying. Humberstone is a vivid reminder of humans’ capacity to adapt and their will to fight against the inevitable twists and turns of adversity.
Nevertheless, the event dedicated to community, self-expression and celebration of the arts gathered a considerable crowd that reminded us that art is not to be confined to the walls of a museum, but to be enjoyed as a dynamic rupture in public space.
After this year’s ball, I am sure I speak for many of the attendees when I say we only want to see more of the queens’ charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.
