Brandeis student receives award from nonprofit organization

A Brandeis student who, since his sophomore year, has worked with hopeFound, a nonprofit organization that aims to better the lives of homeless people, was awarded a hopeFound Heroes Award for his work with the organization.Aaron Finegold '09 was given the award primarily due to a fundraising gala he planned for hopeFound last February that raised over $4,000 for the organization.


Recruitment project not an immediate success

The admissions recruitment project to recruit the top 500 applicants for the Class of 2013 has not been successful, according to Dean of Arts and Sciences Adam Jaffe.Jaffe stated that about 90 faculty members had volunteered to be in the recruitment initiative.


Cell phone reception to improve in Usdan

A cell phone amplifier, a device designed to improve cell phone service, is scheduled to be installed in the Usdan Student Center by the end of this week, according to Student Union Director of Community Advocacy Andrew Hogan '11.


Univ opens 33 new suites in renovated Ridgewood dorms

The University opened 33 suites in the new Ridgewood Quad for 131 juniors and seniors during the spring semester but left 11 suites unoccupied due to the ongoing construction of the new Shapiro Admissions Center, according to Interim Co-Director of Residence Life Jeremy LeifermanPrior to July 2007, Ridgewood Quad housed 109 students.


Students meet with admin to help make budget cut decisions

A student budget advisory committee that will attempt to assist administrators regarding cuts in the budget that could affect students has been selected, but details of what the committee will discuss have yet to be released.Student Union President Jason Gray '10 announced in his state of the union address on Nov.
