Athlete of the Week: Marianne Specker '12

With a two-run home run to right field, first baseman Marianne Specker '12 helped the softball team defeat Framingham State College 9-1 in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.Specker went 2-2 in the win, with three RBIs and two runs scored.Specker started the year as a utility player for the Judges, but has played first baseman, a role she has filled since Courtney Kelley '11 sprained her ankle earlier in the season."I am kind of used to moving [which position I play] around," she said.


Athlete of the Week: Emily Vaillette '10

The softball team, thanks in large part to the pitching of Emily Vaillette '10, has a record of 18-5-1 after winning four of five games last week.Vaillette pitched seven innings in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon against the Clark University Cougars to spur Brandeis to a 7-2 victory.


Women's Basketball: Judges cannot close out Emory

Just over 2 1/2 minutes into the second half, women's basketball guard Morgan Kendrew '12 stole the ball from Emory University's Sally Peterson and laid it in to give the Judges a 13-point lead in Sunday afternoon's University Athletic Association competition at Brandeis.However, the 73-65 loss proved to be a heartbreaker.
