SOFTBALL: Squad evens record on road

The game-tying run rookie shortstop Brittany Grimm '12 drove in against Clark University last Wednesday was unusual; it came on a play in which she reached base on an error and was thrown out trying to advance all the way to third base.

With 1 minute, 2 seconds remaining in the women's basketball team's final regular season home game against Case Western Reserve University last Sunday, head coach Carol Simon called a time-out despite the fact that her team was leading by 22 points.


ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Morgan Kendrew '12

On a day when the Brandeis women's basketball team honored its graduating seniors, it was a rookie, guard Morgan Kendrew '12, who made a real impression.Kendrew had a career-high 15 points along with four assists and three rebounds in the Judges' 76-56 win over Case Western Reserve University last Sunday.Kendrew's breakout performance came thanks to a hot shooting hand in the first half, in which she hit four of seven shots, including three of four from three-point range.


WBBALL: Starting point guard injured

Lauren Rashford '10, the women's basketball team's starting point guard, injured her left knee at last Tuesday's practice, and coach Carol Simon "is assuming" Rashford will miss the rest of the season, Simon said.
