Record high for marijuana cases

More students have been caught smoking marijuana and referred to the University Board on Student Conduct (UBSC) than in previous years, according to Director of Student Development and Judicial Education Shawn McGuirk . Since the beginning of summer '03 classes, about 50 incidents of illegal drug use were referred to the UBSC, which deliberates on individual cases and delivers a punishment to the party involved.


UJ upholds amendment referendum result

The Student Union Judiciary (UJ) voted in favor of the Student Union regarding the Financial Amendment referendum case Friday, deeming abstentions do not count toward a total tally.The Financial Amendment, which will now go into effect at the start of next semester, brings two major changes to the way clubs are funded.


$122k to fund game room

An election the Student Union held last week decided the $122,000 rollover fund would be invested in the new Student Recreation Center in Usdan instead of an Indoor Rock Gym in Gosman Sports Gym.

SSB to offer DVD rental service beginning Tuesday

In order to increase entertainment options on campus, the Student Service Bureau (SSB) will launch a video rental service from their office in the basement of Usdan Student Center on November 4.Ranging from "American Pie" to "Wag the Dog," the SSB will offer a wide selection of 149 DVDs.


A healthy new 'Balance' in Usdan

Hoping to increase dining options on campus and encourage healthier eating habits among students, Aramark opened a new food station dubbed "Balance" last Tuesday in Usdan Cafeteria.The new station, which replaces "GrillWorks," will feature a core menu of chicken breast, salmon, beef kabob, vegetables, and assorted whole grains.
