Reinharz plans to ban bottled water

University President Jehuda Reinharz, Aramark and Vice President of Campus Operations Mark Collins are working to implement a policy to ban the sale of bottled water on campus, according to an e-mail to the Justice from Reinharz on May 19.


Union bills pass in referendum

The Student Bill of Rights and a constitutional amendment regarding finances passed in referendum in the Student Union election May 1.A total of 1084 students voted on the issue of passing the Bill of Rights and 89.02 percent voted in favor of the bill.


Darwish back on campus

Mamoon Darwish (TYP) is now allowed back on campus after the University Board of Appeals lifted his suspension in a hearing last Wednesday.


Old Springfest policy reinstated

The administration has insisted that a separate, fenced-in area must serve as a beer garden at next Sunday's Springfest, despite Student Union officials' attempts to alter both that aspect of Brandeis' alcohol policy and the overall drinking culture on campus.The Union raised concerns last year about the inflexibility of the school's alcohol policy.


Executive Vice President Peter French to retire in June 2009

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Peter French, the primary supervisor of the University's finances, announced that he will retire in June 2009 due to personal health concerns after working at Brandeis for 11 years."I have been mulling over this decision for the past six months, so it is not something that just came up," French said.
