Petition heats up war debate

After gathering more than 480 signatures last week, North Quad Senator Daniel Mauer '06 has completed a petition to put to a vote whether or not the Brandeis student body officially supports a war against Iraq."We intend to continue gathering signatures, so that the final number will have more of a dramatic impact," Mauer said.


Opinion: Bush needs to re-read constitution

Last I checked, our country espoused the belief in the separation of church and state. Apparently, President Bush hasn't gotten the memo and has decided to bypass Congress and create an executive order that would allow religious groups receive federal funding for social programs.


Anti-war views at Iraq teach-in

The potential war with Iraq has brought a pacificist opposition movement to Brandeis. Wednesday evening, students attended "Walk-Out on War: The Teach-In." Some were already opponents of the war, while others came simply to learn more about the situation before deciding their own position.
