The men and women’s fencing team headed to New York University on Sunday for the NCAA Northeast Regional meet. This was more of an individual meet, as the fencers sought qualifications to the NCAA championships at the Ohio State University later this month.

The women’s basketball team found themselves trailing at the
tail end of regulation in a back-and-forth contest in the championship game of
the Eastern College Athletic Conference tournament on Sunday afternoon. Looking
for their third ECAC title in school history, the sixth-seeded Judges were down
61-58 to the top-seed Westfield State University with just over one minute
remaining in a contest that had already featured six ties and nine lead
changes.

The women’s basketball team saw four players named to the All-University Athletic Association teams last week while the men’s squad saw its offensive leader named co-UAA Rookie of the Year. The women were led by the selection of guard Hannah Cain ’15 to the All-UAA Second Team.

The women’s fencing team fought its way to a 3-2
record in Teaneck, New Jersey at the Farleigh Dickinson University Invitational
this past Sunday. The Judges started off their day with a defeat to the 10th-ranked
Temple University, with saber Ashley Jean ’17 notching two of Brandeis’ five
wins in the match. She finished the day with an overall record of 12-2.

The No. 25 women’s tennis team started its spring season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Bryant University by a score of 6-1. The squad is looking to improve upon its 11-11 season a year ago.

The women’s basketball team played two University Athletic Conference games this weekend, losing one and winning the other. In a rematch of last weekend’s contests against the University of Rochester and Emory University, the Judges beat Rochester 60-52 Sunday afternoon after losing to Emory on 67-61 on Friday evening. Brandeis’ record now stands at 11-9 overall and 3-6 in UAA play.

The men’s basketball team went on the road this week and dropped both of their games, losing to No. 14 Emory University on Friday and the University of Rochester on Sunday. Brandeis has now lost five straight games and seven of their last eight, bringing their record to 7-13 with only five games left to play in the season.
