Another celebrity divorce? Can it be true? Unfortunately (and not so surprisingly), yes. Eva Longoria, star of ABC's Desperate Housewives, filed for divorce this past Friday from her soon-to-be-ex-husband Tony Parker, point guard for the San Antonio Spurs, citing the reason for the split as due to "irreconcilable differences." After days of speculation, Parker announced via Twitter that she is divorcing her husband of a mere 3 years. Even after previous confirmation from her publicist that there would be no divorce, Longoria officially filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court, and a couple days later, Parker filed divorce papers in the Bexar County Courthouse in Texas.

Why did she divorce her partner of 3 years? Infidelity. It seems to be a common home wrecker among celebrities these days, afflicting everyone from the now-infamous Tiger Woods to Shania Twain, who found out her now ex-husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange cheated on her with Twain's personal assistant and close friend.

Parker allegedly cheated on Longoria with Erin Barry, wife of former teammate Brent Barry-the couple is also going through a divorce. Longoria found hundreds of texts that clearly showed Parker's infidelity. Oddly, Parker saved these texts on his computer, and he even downloaded a program to keep them hidden on his computer. Longoria found the texts because Parker didn't properly close the program.

It's really quite sad that Parker would go to such lengths to hide the texts-it makes it seem as if he was perfectly fine with keeping the charade going. But, unfortunately, it's not surprising. That marriage has been plagued with rumors of infidelity from the beginning. In December 2007, only 6 months after Longoria and Parker's wedding in a French castle, model Alexandra Paressant told the press she had an affair with Parker. The couple denied it, and Longoria even filed a lawsuit against the website that first reported it, stating that Paressant used the Parkers to climb the social ladder; the model certainly had an interesting way to do it. While Parker may not have cheated in that instance, it can only feel seem a bad omen now with the knowledge of their pending divorce.

It's na've to think, but it's sad to hear about couples like Longoria and Parker ending their relationship on such a sorrowful note. Is it so wrong to believe that everyone can be in it for the long haul? Possibly.
