In the men's soccer team's record-setting 13-0 win against Newbury College last Thursday, forward Alexander Farr '12 scored three goals in just 4 minutes, 13 seconds. Farr recorded the fastest hat trick in school history, and the sixth fastest hat trick in Division III history. "I came in for a while; things were clicking," he said. "I got a few early opportunities and I managed to put them away. The second goal was my favorite. I managed to put the ball past the defense and tuck into the far corner."

Farr broke the previous team record, set by Brandeis' fifth-highest all-time scorer Ben Premo '09, who recorded his hat trick in 7:35.

Farr, who has four goals on the season, led the team in scoring last season with seven goals. In his first year on the team two seasons ago, he scored four goals and dished two assists.

Farr has been pleased with the team's chemistry on and off the field this season.

"The whole camaraderie has been really good, and we've been very solid so far. The upperclassmen have been great leaders. Leadership is a responsibility that I take seriously," said Farr.

The team has won six straight games, the most consecutive wins since the 2000 season. Now, the team is looking to carry the momentum throughout the season, especially against the tougher opponents they face in the University Athletic Association.

"The first few games have not been as competitive, but we've been burying these teams, and we've got [to] do that to beat the better teams coming up," Farr said. "We know we haven't gotten to the strongest part of the schedule yet, but we are really happy that we are playing well, and we have a big game coming up [againstthe Massachusetts Institute of Technology tomorrow].
