Pop Culture: Will Ashton Kutcher be a Daddy?
Has Ashton Kutcher "punk'd" us again? The 27-year-old That '70s Show star and Punk'd producer refused to confirm or deny the buzz that 42-year-old girlfriend Demi Moore is eight weeks pregnant with his child. At a news conference promoting his new movie, Guess Who?, Kutcher joked, "Why am I the last person to find out everything? I'm going to be a daddy? God, no one tells me anything."Moore's publicist, Stephen Huvane, released this statement: "Having another child is something Demi would like to do, but she cannot at this time say she is pregnant." Meanwhile, the G.I. Jane and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle actress told People magazine, "The rumors are just that: rumors."
Moore and her second husband, actor Bruce Willis, divorced in 2000. They have three daughters: Rumer, 16, Scout, 13 and Tallulah, 11.
Mario Vazquez did something no other American Idol contestant has done in the history of the show-he dropped out voluntarily. Not only was Vazquez voted into the Top 12 round of competition, but many of his fellow contestants thought the 27-year-old singer was a shoe-in for the finals. Rumors for the reasons for his departure have ranged from a pornographic past to a possible testimony in the Michael Jackson molestation trial. Vazquez has been tight-lipped, only stating to the Associated Press, "My gut and intuition told me it wasn't time to do this. I had to focus on some personal areas in my life with the little bit of privacy that I have."
While Vazquez claims he needs privacy, he hasn't shied away from the media spotlight this week. He has done interviews for MTV, USA Today, Access Hollywood and the Associated Press as well as appearing on Live With Regis and Kelly and The Late Show With David Letterman-making his drop-out seem like a publicity stunt rather than a personal dilemma. Vazquez has even hired a lawyer to help him work around a clause in his Idol contract that would not allow him to record until late summer.
