A keg of beer was stolen from the back of a delivery truck parked next to Sherman on Dec. 11, 2004, according to Barbara Laverdiere, Aramark's director at Brandeis.Laverdiere said that the driver of the truck was delivering several kegs for an event catered by Aramark. She said that the alleged thieves must have stolen the keg quickly because it went missing between the time the driver delivering the keg walked into the building and the time he returned to his truck.

According to Laverdiere, the location of the keg is still unknown.

"Usually at the end of the year when they clean out the dorms these things tend to surface," Laverdiere said.

Though Laverdiere did not specify where Aramark's keg was purchased, she said the company is absorbing the cost of their deposit on the keg.

According to an employee of Gordon's Liquor, kegs of beer cost between $78.99 and $139.99. The employee said that keg purchases require a deposit of $20, which is returned in exchange for the empty keg.

The supervisor in Sherman during the time of the alleged theft was unavailable for comment Monday.
