Univ considers creating additional vacation day

A Faculty Senate task force conducted a faculty-wide survey regarding the possibility of making the Wednesday before Thanksgiving a holiday in future years and instead holding an additional day of classes, most likely on Labor Day.In order to hear the opinions of other faculty members, the survey conducted in the last week of October asked how the faculty would feel about holding class on Labor Day.


Investment committee to be formed

Student Union President Jason Gray '10 sent an application by e-mail last Friday to all undergraduate and graduate students, inviting them to apply to be a part of the Committee on Endowment Ethics and Responsibility.


Stand up for your right to fight poverty

The voices of hundreds of people in Harvard's packed Paine Hall echoed loudly and clearly the pledge to take action against global poverty:"Campaigners world-wide will stand up and take action to push their governments for more and better aid, debt cancellation, education for all boys and girls, health care, trade justice, gender equality and public accountability!"With these words, a group of enthused college students and recent college graduates initiated the Stand Up and Take Action Against Poverty Rally, held Oct.


Formalized group will review University's investments

Within the next few weeks, the Student Union hopes to create a formalized body through which students can voice their opinions about the companies in which the University invests its endowment, which could alter Brandeis' financial review process, said Student Union President Jason Gray '10.


Writing Center changes location, debuts several new reforms

The Writing Center, a one-on-one tutorial service designed to help students improve their writing skills, moved this year to an office suite in the new Library Technical Services Information Commons and expanded its services to offer more help in areas such as grammar and English as a Second Language tutoring.
