The Russian Language and Literature faculty is proposing a new Russian Studies program, tentatively scheduled to launch in fall 2010, to replace the existing RLL program and the interdepartmental program in Russian and Eastern European Studies, announced David Powelstock, chair of the new Russian Studies curriculum committee, at Thursday's faculty meeting.

Not only does Souffrant have the responsibility of serving as a representative for racial minorities on campus, but he also has to address the legality of his position and discuss the issue with members of the Constitutional Review Committee.
Student Union senators are lobbying the Constitutional Review Committee, which is considering changes to the Student Union Constitution, to consider the creation of a midyear senator position as the committee undertakes its review this year.

A number of students were sickened by bleach in a noninventory cleaning product used in a gender-neutral bathroom on the third floor of the Village A House last Monday afternoon, according to affected students and Director of Facilities Services Peter Baker in an e-mail to the Justice.Baker wrote that he learned late Tuesday morning that custodial supervision staff had responded to a call on Monday evening "and found an odor of bleach and a non-inventory cleaning product . that contained bleach." He wrote that Office of Facilities Services does not "purchase or use bleach when cleaning." "Not surprisingly, we are seeing more and more non-inventory cleaning products and sanitizers around campus as a result of flu concerns," Baker wrote.
