Grassroots mediocracy in Matin's latest

There's a new guy on the grass-roots scene. But while Todd Martin's vying to become the next John Mayer, he falls short in charm and distinctiveness.The Philadelphia native's new album, How Is It That I'm Alone, follows his 2003 demo release, Visions and his live record Live From My Hometown, a product of his growing support group.Although his album can be lyrically strong-and even poetic at times-Martin's mediocre vocals and muddled melodies may prevent listeners from truly appreciating his sound.


Twisted' is mystery fun

Wilshire not enough to satisfy hunger
