TRACK: Men falter at home in UAAs

After finishing second place in the University Athletic Association cross-country championships last fall and third place at last year's UAA indoor track championships, men's runners were presented with a golden opportunity to continue their rise to national prominence as hosts of this weekend's UAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.


TRACK: Guilinger finishes strong

Competing in his first-ever 1,000-meter run at the Tufts University Indoor Invitational Saturday, John Guilinger's '08 eyes lit up as the sole runner in front of him, from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, pulled out after the 600-meter mark, allowing Guilinger to take the lead and win the race."At that point my coach had me go for it," said Guilinger, who finished the race in 2 minutes, 32.42 seconds.In a meet where several Judges experimented with new events, Guilinger's win allowed the men to salvage an 11th-place finish out of 14 teams.


TRACK: Runners focus on personal goals at BU

Instead of focusing on outrunning sometimes superior opposing schools at Saturday's Terrier Classic at Boston University, the members of men's and women's indoor track teams essentially competed with themselves.


SWIMMING: Judges swept by Rochester

The men's and women's swimming teams claimed many individual victories Saturday against the University of Rochester, but were unable to pull out the closest races of the day on the way to being swept at home.
