Highest honor

The seeds for the athletic careers of Bobby Bernstein '85 and Hannah Johnson Bornstein '02 were planted at an early age.Bernstein, a distinguished tennis player, started hitting with his father, a professor at Brandeis, at the age of six.


Alumni plan to build new seats

Two soccer alumni are spearheading a campaign to add bleachers behind the home and away benches of Gordon Field, Director of Athletics Sheryl Sousa '90 said during her opening remarks at the Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony last Sunday."[The addition of bleachers] would give our teams the home field advantage they truly deserve," Sousa said.


OUTDOOR TRACK: Anastos leads the men's club at Stonehill

After staying in stride with the University of Massachusetts at Lowell sophomore Tim Guerin for most of the men's 5000-meter run at the Stonehill Skyhawk Track and Field Invitational last Saturday, Dan Anastos '11 broke away with three laps to go in the race.Anastos came in first, crossing the finish line nearly 12 seconds before Guerin in 15 minutes, 38.63 seconds.


Young guns fire last shot

A combined 3,300 fans decked in white Brandeis shirts descended upon Red Auerbach Arena to watch the men's basketball team's senior core dispose of Lasell College and Bowdoin College in the opening rounds of this season's NCAA tournament.


Seeds of the future

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.- After the final buzzer sounded in the men's basketball team's 65-55 NCAA Tournament Sectional Final loss to Amherst College last Saturday, the Judges' five active seniors walked off the court dejected, heads slouched below their shoulders while wiping away tears with their jerseys.
