Men's Basketball: Men win four more to continue perfect start

Just over 8 1/2 minutes into the No. 19 Brandeis men's basketball team's game last Sunday afternoon against Tufts University, forward Christian Yemga '11 hit a layup off a pass from guard Tyrone Hughes '12 to put the Judges up 12-0.The Judges never looked back from there, winning 60-52 in the final of the second annual New England Big 4 Challenge at Babson College.


Men's Basketball: Judges grab first three games to begin the season

Led by sharpshooting forward Vytas Kriskus '12, the men's basketball team cruised to three straight double-digit wins to open the season.The Judges defeated Lasell College 73-51 last Tuesday before defeating both Newbury College 89-60 and Curry College 81-69 last weekend to win the Brandeis Judges Classic.Coach Brian Meehan said that though the team still has room to improve, he's been impressed with the team's offense, especially with so many new faces."I think for the most part, we've had periods of time where we stop running the offense and get complacent, but overall, for this time of the year [and] with this many new guys, we've done a good job of executing on the offense," Meehan said.


It's all in the family

It is rare to see a brother and sister go to the same college. It is rarer still for them to both play soccer on their respective squads.


Newcomer to watch: Bella Hu '13

The volleyball team will return a large portion of its team this season, including setter Abby Blasco '11, outside hitter Paige Blasco '11 and middle blocker Nicole Smith '11.


Men's Soccer: Judges seek a rebound season

Despite having a losing record last season, the men's soccer team seems primed for success this season with an impressive class of incoming first-years and transfer students as well as an extra year of experience for the young roster.
