Dukakis speaks on uninsured

The Brandeis Adult Learning Institute (BALI) invited former Massachusetts governor and 1988 Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis to speak about American Health insurance on May 12 in the Shapiro theater.Titled "The Uninsured: Forty-Four Million...and Counting," Dukakis' presentation focused on several aspects of health insurance, including its history, its importance to Dukakis and his critique of the current government's approach to it."Here we are in 2004 nearing a new election and 44 million Americans who are working aren't on health insurance," Dukakis said.


Trisk fliering to raise brows

Members of Triskelion posted fliers in buildings across campus last Sunday stressing the concept of "queer" as something, according to Trisk members, that everyone must accept.According to Aaron Schwid '05, Trisk's general coordinator, the main goal in posting the fliers was to clarify the meaning of "queer" and to counter "identity politics.""'Queer' is an attack on identity politics," Schwid said defining the term.

Senate asks Admin. to return funds

Justice arts writer Michael Camp '07 was fired this week after the editorial board discovered he plagiarized a combined total of seven articles and reviews from other Justice reporters and outside sources, including The Boston Phoenix and the Toronto-based Globe and Mail.
