Committee will plan events for new center

Dean of Arts and Sciences Adam Jaffe appointed a steering committee to put together a program for next year regarding which events will be held to mark the opening of the new Mandel Center for the Humanities currently under construction.


Search for JBS leader ongoing

Applications for the Justice Brandeis Semester manager position are being reviewed by the committee responsible for the operations of the JBS programs, according to Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences Elaine Wong, a committee member.


Future of golf team unclear

According to captain of the Brandeis golf team Lee Bloom '10, Athletics Director Sheryl Sousa '90 informed the team that there is a possibility that it could fit back into the University's budget if the University budget deficit decreases.


Citizenship model set to be reviewed

Director of the Department of Student Rights and Community Standards Dean Gendron will create a campuswide committee to conduct a yearlong review of the student citizenship model, including the Student Rights and Responsibilities handbook and the Student Conduct System.Gendron said that the committee, which will be formed in the near future, will include both undergraduate and graduate constituents.


Kalman lawsuit settled

An injunction filed by the estate of Julius Kalman against Brandeis University claiming that the planned demolition of the Kalman science building violated Kalman's will has been settled, according to a document filed in the Suffolk Probate Court Aug.


Construction projects advance

The new Carl and Ruth Shapiro Admissions Center is scheduled for occupancy in early October, and progress has also been made over the summer on several other on-campus construction projects, said to Vice President of Capital Projects Dan Feldman in an e-mail to the Justice.
