No such thing as a cheap lunch

Bandeis' food and service provider, Aramark, has made an approximate three percent price increase to some selections at the Usdan Cafeteria and the Boulevard to better compete with what other local college dining facilites charge for similar items.The largest price increase applies to a plain omelet, which now costs $2.20 instead of $1.79.


A-Board: Over $30k in club money left over from Spring

Last spring, $30,317 remained unspent between various clubs who received funding from the Allocations Board (A-board).The following clubs had the most inordinate amount of unspent allocation money from the A-board: International Club ($3,645), Brandeis Zionist Association ($1,570), Men's Lacrosse ($1,540) and Black Student Organization ($1,374). "The way the current system works is item by item," Chair of A-board Mark D.


First-years shut out of all points plan

First-year students can no longer sign-up for the all-points meal plan option, which provides the equivalent of $1,300 per semester for food at any of the dining facility on campus, including the Express Way convenience store at the Usdan Cafe.


Senate resolution leads to controversy

The Union senate recently passed and presented a resolution to the Board of Trustees that criticized the possibility of custodial layoffs and suggested cutting the wages of upper level employees to save the jobs of lower-paid ones.


Gov't keeps their eye on foreign students

As a result of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) has created the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, or SEVIS, to track nearly one million foreign students and scholars in the United States.

Club chartersThe Minority Premed Society was chartered. The purpose of this club is to provide minority students resources and assistance in pre-health and general science courses.The Mitzvah Corps was chartered.
