The Strategic Planning Committee has made another step forward in the planning process with the February launch of a website designed to share the feedback gathered so far and to garner further input.

In an email to the Brandeis community, Provost Steve Goldstein '78 described the website as a "clearinghouse for information" about the strategic planning process that the University has undertaken.

"Through this website you can learn about the strategic planning process, review updates from the steering committee, examine reports and documents from the task forces, and engage in an ongoing discussion through the online forum. The site is a good way to get involved and stay involved," he wrote. Goldstein also encouraged students to continue contributing to the process and take advantage of the website's interactive nature.

One of the website's key features is the "Strategic Planning Discussion Forum," a space for students to share their ideas on topics such as student life and campus facilities. So far, there have only been four posts on the forum.

Another section of the website is for "Documents and Reports." Here the committee has gathered summaries of the feedback they have received from faculty, staff and alumni, though the feedback from students is still being analyzed and summarized, according to Student Union President Herbie Rosen '12. The section also features a document called "Our Time to Dream," which features a quote from architect Daniel Burnham: "Make no little plans, they have no magic to stir the blood and probably themselves will not be realized."

According to the website, the strategic planning process "is designed to engage a broad spectrum of Brandeis stakeholders and result in a plan that will set the institution's 10- to 20-year trajectory and lay out a five-year framework for moving forward."

The Strategic Planning Steering Committee plans to produce a draft plan by October 2012 and a finalized plan by December 2012, according to the website.
