They may not be American citizens, but the Beckhams know their way around the American legal system. If you wandered by a newsstand this week, the cover of In Touch magazine may have caught your eye at it proclaimed that David Beckham had cheated on his wife of 11 years, Victoria Beckham, with a $10,000-per-night prostitute.

On Sept. 22, a rep for the couple told UsMagazine.com that the prostitute's allegations (which include, but are not limited to, a threesome and unprotected sex) "are completely untrue and totally ridiculous, as the magazine was clearly told before publication."

Yes, you heard correctly. David Beckham sent warnings to Bauer Media (the owner of In Touch), saying that if the magazine cover was published as planned, he would take legal action.

The warning was ignored, and now Beckham is demanding a retraction of the cover and an apology from the magazine, and he is planning to sue the magazine for defamation and slander. According to the Guardian, the documents are still awaiting Beckham's signature but will demand that the magazine print a retraction on the front page of its next issue. Beckham's legal assault will allegedly hit both the United States and Germany, where the magazine is also published. While he is mildly restricted because the allegations of infidelity were not posted on the In Touch website, the claims were widely reported in newspapers in the United Kingdom and have led to further frustration on Beckham's part.

Beckham's reps are also looking to sue the woman behind the claims, Irma Nici. She describes herself on her website as the "world's most sought-after call girl," but apparently she called herself a little too highly this time.

"Sadly, we live in a world where a magazine can print lies and believe they can get away with it," a rep for Beckham told UsMagazine.com. "We are taking legal action against the magazine." The source went on to say that David, 35, and Victoria, 36, will definitely "fight this. They're fed up with people trying to tear them apart. Their love is strong."

The couple was recently spotted out at their local park with their three sons, enjoying the brief time together that their busy schedules often deny them. They looked pretty happy to me. Nice try, Ms. Nici.
