Did you think Lindsay Lohan was out of the public eye? Think again! While she's been laying low for the last few weeks with the exception of a few fashion show appearances, Lindsay popped back up onto TMZ's radar this weekend when she was spotted with a bottle of prescription pills in her purse on Jan. 31.

The U.K.'s Daily Mail ran the headline "Fears for Lindsay Lohan's health as she is spotted with 'prescription drugs.'" The paper claimed that images of the pills inside her purse, half-hidden among her lipstick, hairbrush and wallet, have prompted fears that the often-wayward star may be slipping back to her old ways.

Back in October, Lindsay's father, Michael Lohan, told RadarOnline.com that he was "terrified" that Lindsay's constant overuse of prescription drugs would lead her to share the same fate as other stars. "I hate it when people talk about illegal drug use," he said. "It's not just drinking and illegal drugs that kill you. Prescription drugs can destroy and kill a person and are sometimes harder to stop. Look at Heath Ledger and Michael Jackson."

Michael Lohan's parenting habits have a history of being horrific-he tends to only butt into Lindsay's life when he has a comment to make about her lifestyle or habits, but never seems to actually be a physical presence in her life-but he raises a good point. The slew of deaths in young Hollywood in recent months due to prescription drug use seems to be indicating a scary habit among young stars. Actress Brittany Murphy died suddenly on Dec. 20 at the age of 32 with a large stash of prescription drugs in her home. While the coroner's final report stated that the final cause of her death was pneumonia, toxicology tests revealed dangerous quantities of prescription drugs (specific brands were not released) in her body.

So has Lindsay fallen off the straight-and-narrow bandwagon and climbed onto a much more dangerous one?

No, she hasn't! Lindsay herself told Gossip Cop on Feb. 2 that the pills "are trazodone, . a non-narcotic sleeping aid for when I travel. They've been prescribed to me since I was in rehab!"

Looks like Lindsay's sticking to her New Year's resolution to leave her bad habits in 2009. You go, girl!
