Effort begun to bring clubs into line with Mass law
Director of Student Activities Stephanie Grimes spoke about the role of the Student Activities department. She said that in November and December, Student Activities will be spearheading an assessment of its work with student leaders, such as club leaders and members of the Student Union, and asking for feedback about what could help student leaders. A major issue, on which Student Activities is working in conjunction with the Student Union, is getting student clubs to complete the Anti-Hazing Policy form, which is required for any organization under Massachusetts law. Grimes said that, as of last Friday, 160 clubs had completed the form, but 115 clubs listed on myBrandeis had not.

He is currently working on facilitating discussion between Greek organizations at Brandeis and the administration, an effort he said is "pointing in the direction of a better system than we have now."
Vice President Amanda Hecker '10 said that the Executive Board had discussed issues of overcrowding, specifically in Usdan cafeteria, at their most recent meeting.
The Union voted to charter the Coed Volleyball Club, which has been recognized for two years and was hoping to get chartered in order to purchase new balls and enter competitive tournaments.
The Union voted down a bylaw amendment that would have allowed chartered clubs the right to have graduate students as officers.
