The University is waiting to confirm a date for Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass. to speak about his new book on campus, Brandeis spokesperson Lorna Miles said.Brandeis hasn't yet heard back from Kerry's office regarding when the former presidential candidate will be able to present This Moment on Earth, a book he co-wrote with his wife Teresa Heinz, for the Meet the Author speaker series, Miles wrote in an e-mail to the Justice.

In the book, which was released last March, the couple shows how environmental issues unite people across ideological, geographic and cultural lines through descriptions of the lives of environmental activists.

Prof. Peter Conrad (SOC), Al-Quds University President Sari Nusseibeh, and Allan M. Brandt, a professor of the history of science at Harvard University, are on this semester's Meet the Author schedule. Last spring's series included two Brandeis student authors, Prof. Sylvia Barack Fishman (NEJS) and David Oshinsky, University of Texas history professor and Pulitzer Prize-winning author. Former President Jimmy Carter also visited campus last January to discuss his book on the Middle East: Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid.
