Work continues on North Academic Quad
Upgrades have been made to heating, ventilation and air conditioning in 22 North Academic Quad classrooms, Head of University Services Mark Collins said. Parking has also been expanded behind the Quad and residence halls on the north side of campus. The University began to replace water lines and repair ducts in May, Collins said. These classrooms have also been outfitted with new seating and window blinds.
Repairs on the air systems in the classrooms cost $1.5 million, Vice President for Capital Projects Daniel Feldman said to the Justice last week.
Collins said this process will take place in every classroom on campus.
Faculty parking for the North Academic Quad has increased significantly, Collins said. N-Lot, which is behind the North Residence Halls, has been widened and extended to the back of the Lown building. The expansion has more than doubled the amount of parking spaces in N-Lot to 70 spots.
The additional parking spaces will take some of the existing burden off of E-Lot, the faculty parking lot located behind Golding, Collins said.
