Inside Liquid Latex
Preparing for the Liquid Latex is an arduous process, especially for the models, who spend many hours preparing their bodies for the event. Beforehand, models must be shaven everywhere that the latex is going to go. This might be hard work, but it creates bonds.
"There was a lot of shaving that I've never done before," said Ben Sandler '07. "Yeah, uh, you really, really get to know a guy when you have a razor buried into his butt crack. We're all really close now."
Furthermore, they cannot use the bathroom, so they dehydrate themselves on the day of the show in order not to end up like Justin Olin '06, who exclaimed before the show, "I just wanna pee!"
Models hold contorted positions for multiple hours, as they wear at least three layers of latex. Once they are painted, however, they are surprisingly comfortable.
"It's not that bad, except in the crotch [where] it's like a crypt," said Josh Gondelman '07.
Ondi Gottesman '07 identified more with a Barbie dolls than nudists: "It's past naked," she explained. "It feels like we're made out of plastic.
