Pop Culture: Eminem and ex-wife Kim wed again, a public Brangelina sighting
Looks like Eminem will have to take a trip to the tattoo parlor soon to remove a certain piece of body art from his chest. After remarrying his former wife and sweetheart Kimberly Mathers Saturday, it no longer seems appropriate for him to sport his "Kim Rot in Pieces" tattoo. Eminem first announced his reconciliation with Kim a month ago. This change of heart comes five years after the dissolution of the couple's first attempt at marriage. The Detroit ceremony included not only family but a guest list of close friends that reads like a who's who of hip hop; 50 Cent and members of D12 and G-Unit were in attendance.
Eminem, 33, and Kim, 30, began dating in high school and had their daughter Hailie Jade in 1995. The couple first married in 1999, around the same time that Eminem's debut album, The Slim Shady LP, was released. The couple's marital troubles, reflected in Eminem's derisive song "Kim," became too much to handle, and they soon divorced in 2001. Hopefully this remarriage will prove to be more permanent than Eminem's tattoo.
Hollywood's hottest and most elusive couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, made their second appearance together this week in an exotic land a little closer to home: Haiti. It was also the couple's first public appearance since the announcement of Jolie's pregnancy last Wednesday. Assuming her role as a goodwill ambassador, Jolie focused the attention away from herself and emphasized the need for Americans to provide Haitians with help and a chance to achieve greatness. She urged Americans to not give up on the country because of the U.S. Government's warnings to tourists regarding threats of kidnapping, looting and roving militias.
Jolie avoided drawing attention to her pregnancy and the rumors about its negative reception by Pitt's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, whose own publicist was quick to set the record straight, identifying tabloid reports of Jolie personally calling Aniston to inform her of the pregnancy as false. Aniston wasn't the only one who had to wait for the gossip columns to discover the news. Jolie's estranged father, Jon Voight, was also in the dark about the pregnancy until he learned of it through Access Hollywood.
