Jacob Baime '08 resigned as East Quad Senator citing an off-campus political commitment. Winter elections will be held to fill the positions of East Quad Senator and Senator for the Classes of 2006 and 2007. Union President Jenny Feinberg '06 will meet with Vice President for Campus Operations Mark Collins on Monday to discuss the Student Union's support of Fair Trade coffee.

Representative to the Board of Trustees Albert Cahn '07 and Senator for Off-Campus Students Miriam Sievers '06 announced a request to Director of Residence Life Maggie Balch to issue keys for residence halls to off-campus students.

Director of Social Affairs Edgar Ndjatou '06 said he is working on creating a more accessible party registration form. Ndjatou met with Assistant Dean of Student Life Alwina Bennett and Director of Public Safety Ed Callahan about beginning weekend quiet hours at 2 a.m. rather than 11 p.m.

Union Treasurer Nick Freeman '07 presented the Union budget for next semester. He said only $1,000 of the $5,000 Union discretionary fund has been spent.

Percussion Ensemble and Student Initiative for the Greater Good were recognized, and the Writing and Literature Club, the Scandalous club, the Native American Club and the Watch Magazine were derecognized. Union President Jenny Feinberg '07 said the Union will use $4,000 that Watch Magazine leaves behind.

Ziv Quad Senator Adam Gartner '07 proposed increased office hours for senators, representatives and Union Judiciary members.

The Senate passed a resolution condemning the recent assault in the Village Quad and recommending a set of safety precautions. Village Quad Senator Mara Blumenthal '06 reported that the female victim is recovering at home.

Freeman proposed discontinuing funding for a fall mid-year graduation and instead spend the funds on the Junior/Senior Formal.

Executive Senator Alison Schwartzbaum submitted a resolution that recommends students be allowed to study in Shapiro Campus Center conference rooms until 2 a.m., as in previous years.
