This edition of pop culture is comprised of two prime examples of why using cocaine is never a good idea. The only person who really wants to hurt Boy George is himself, apparently, after he managed to get arrested on Friday. The former member of the 80s band Culture Club was detained on alleged drug possession and for filing a false police report, claiming that his apartment in New York was burglarized. George was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, supposedly possessing more than an eighth of an ounce of cocaine. He was also indicted for his false burglary report. The singer was released but will have to return to court on Dec. 19.

His lawyer, Lou Freeman, maintained George's innocence in the charges, telling the New York Post that "a man who has something to hide does not call the police." However, when the police answered George's call at 3 a.m. Friday morning, Detective Eric Crisafi observed George to be in "a drugged stupor." For those only interested in concrete evidence, the police discovered the cocaine next to a computer after a quick search of the apartment.

This is not the first time George has been charged with drug possession. In 1986, he was convicted for heroin possession in England. Following his arrest, George was sent to rehab, initiating the decline of the Culture Club. Looks like George is tumbling right back into rehab.

Once again, science prevents gold diggers from taking celebrities for all they're worth. A paternity suit against Wesley Snipes was dropped when DNA tests determined that he did not, in fact, father the child of an Indiana woman. The woman, Lanise Pettis, filed the claim three years ago, saying that she had sex with Snipes in a crack house in 2000, after which she gave birth to his son. Snipes refused to submit to a paternity test, claiming that Pettis was "obviously a delusional crack addict." Snipes countersued, insisting the allegations were bogus and a violation of his civil rights. The case was later dismissed when both DNA tests and other evidence revealed that another man was responsible for the impregnation. Unfortunately for Pettis, Snipes will not be funding her crack habit.
