Union Quad elections sign-ups announced; candidates must attend two mandatory meetings
Elections for seats in the Student Union Senate have been scheduled for later this month. Seats are open for all quadrangles, including the new Village, in addition to an off-campus position. Additionally, elections will be held for Senators from the Class of 2007 and the Transitional-Year Program.Students can sign up for elections outside the Student Union Office on the 3rd floor of the Shapiro Campus Center. The deadline to announce candidacy in an election is Wednesday at 8 p.m. After this time, candidates are required to attend one of two meetings this week. Meetings will be held on Wednesday at 8 p.m. and on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Primaries are scheduled for Monday, Sept. 15 and final elections will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17. All elections will be conducted on-line.
Additionally, students may sign up for unelected positions on Union Senate committees. The Senate operates committees on Service, Advocacy, Social Justice, Diversity and Project Brandeis University Spirit. Applications for committee membership are due by Sept. 15.
