This Thursday marked the 16th annual Boston Music Award show. The show, which was held at the Wang Center, is a celebration of exceptional music produced by artists with strong ties to the Boston music scene. The show is the most prestigious of its kind, showcasing live performances and award presentations by some of the major artists in the Boston music scene. Some past performers and presenters include Aerosmith, Godsmack, Phish, Carly Simon, New Kids on the Block, and James Taylor. The Boston Music Awards prides itself on the diversity of its awards, recognizing a wide variety of genres from hip-hop to blues to country.Dicky Barrett of the Might Might Bosstones hosted this year's award show, which included appearances by Gary Charone, Godsmack, Boston, Walter McCarty, Jon Butcher and Charlie Ferren. The show featured performances by Kate, Livingston and Ben Taylor; The Ben Taylor Band, James Montgomery and Friends, Johnny A, Blueman Group featuring tracet Bonham, Bleu, Desden Dolls, Rubyhorse, EDOG and Howie Day.
