Women B-ball to tip-off
The women's basketball team has spent the past three weeks in informal competition in preparation for the season to come. Sunday found the team in Maine , where the Judges participated in a scrimmage against nationally-ranked University of Southern Maine. Score was not kept, but according to players, the performance was a success.
"I think we played really well (Sunday)," Co-captain Jayne Wise '04 said. "Southern Maine is ranked top 10 in the nation for division three schools, and I think we played really well against them."
Last Tuesday, the Judges played Clark University in a scrimmage at Brandeis.
"We played Clark well, but we played better (Sunday)," Wise added. "Some things we didn't do against Clark we did better (Sunday), so that was a good sign."
The team also hosted its annual alumni game, which brought former Brandeis basketball players back to their alma mater to compete against the current team. Last year's seniors were among those who returned to play.
"It was good seeing alot of old teammates," 0 Wise said.
The team will hold its tip-off tournament Friday and Saturday at Gosman. Action starts on Friday at 6 p.m.
