MBball ends pre-season
The men's basketball team had its last pre-season scrimmage on Sunday at Emmanuel College in Boston. The Judges learned alot about themselves after playing a close, solid game. Barring injury, the starting lineup is now in place. It will consist of guards Stuart Pradia '05 and Greg Kristof '04, forwards Ben Bosanac '04 and Glenn Wright '05 and center Bryan Lambert '04.
The Judges also showed that one of their main concerns, making jump shots, may not be a problem, as Pradia shot especially well, making several jumpers in transition.
"I liked the fact that we knocked down some jump shots," Coach Chris Ford said.
The Judges showed promise, and Ford was "happy with the way the guys played on both ends." But he added, "we have to continue to work on our execution and players have to learn where to be."
Unfortunately for the Judges, they also suffered two injuries during the game. Center Seth Roberts '06 - the second tallest player on the team - severely sprained his ankle and will be out indefinitely. This will give an already undersized Brandeis team more trouble with rebounding.
Guard Jon Marks '04 pulled his quad, but should be ready for the season opener, the North County Tip-Off Tournament in Potsdam, NY on the Friday.
The Judges first home game is against Suffolk University on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
