Recently, the Union Senate announced the creation of the club liaison program. In an e-mail to Brandeis students, Union Senate President Ben Brandzel '03 and newly appointed Club Resource Coordinator Nathaniel Westheimer '05 said the purpose of the program is to "enhance service, advocacy and general communication between the Student Union and the over 200 student-run clubs and organizations on campus.""This represents a revolution in the way that the Union provides services and representation to the clubs and students at Brandeis," Brandzel told the Justice.

The e-mail also described how the new program will work. "We will train a group of Club Liaisons who will offer to attend one meeting of every single club on campus. At these meetings, the Liaisons will explain all of the human, material, technical and financial services the Union can offer clubs. The Liaisons will also listen to the clubs talk about their experience and their needs, both material and political. This will open up lines of communication between club members and their Union representatives, and provide us with a comprehensive advocacy agenda to push to the administration," Brandzel and Westheimer said in the e-mail.

"We will be connecting with clubs at their usual meeting time and place, to tell them about the services the Union can offer them, as well as gather feedback about what issues need our advocacy support," Brandzel said.

"This was an important part of my platform, and I am very pleased to see our newest E-board appointee, Club Resources Coordinator Nate Westheimer ('05), make this a reality," he added.

The first club liaison meeting will be held today.
