Elections for Grad, Ziv, Ridgewood, Massell, Rosenthal, North, East, Off-Campus, and Castle, Class of 2006 and Transitional Year Program Senators will be held on Sept. 19, with final elections to be held Sept. 26. Fifty people signed up for elections at Sunday's Activities Fair, Yoselin Bugallo '03, Union Senate secretary, said. "The Class of 2006 is already showing great enthusiasm and spirit," Bugallo said.

Bugallo also pointed out that positions on the many Senate commitees are open to applications.

"You can take classes on politics, compromise, influence and leadership," Union President Ben Brandzel '03 said, encouraging students to run for office, "but to really take responsibility for the daily operation of the community you live in teaches lessons you will never forget."

"Whether it is club vans, food selection or an ethical investment policy for the endowment, student government is all about maximizing our collective potential for positive change," Brandzel said.
