VOLLEYBALL NOTEBOOK: Blasco sidelined with injury

Setter Abby Blasco '11, the 2007 University Athletic Association Rookie of the Year, has been sidelined with a pulled hamstring for the past two weekends.She said she hopes to return to the court for next weekend's matches against the United States Coast Guard Academy and Keene State College.Blasco injured her hamstring in a match against Tufts University Sept.

It's hard not to commiserate with the volleyball team's outside hitter Paige Blasco '11, who spent her rookie season recovering from a torn ACL and MCL in her knee, a torn meniscus and a torn labrum in her shoulder.


VOLLEYBALL: Judges sweep Brandeis Invitational

After having gone 2-0 on Friday, the first day of last weekend's two-day Brandeis Invitational, the volleyball team found itself in an 8-0 hole during the first set of a match against Trinity College last Saturday, threatening their hopes for a perfect weekend.


VOLLEYBALL: Squad continues success on home court with win over Wentworth

Last year, the volleyball team lost just once out of 13 tries at Red Auerbach Arena. That run of dominance has continued into the beginning of this season.The Judges continued last season's home success in Saturday's season opener, defeating the Wentworth Institute of Technology in straight sets by a score of 25-14, 25-11, 25-16."I'm sure there are various factors playing into our success at home," coach Michelle Kim wrote in an e-mail to the Justice.
