Athlete of the week: Melissa Gorenkoff '12

Despite scoring only three goals this season after scoring eight last year, forward Melissa Gorenkoff '10 has found another way to make her presence known on the field.Last weekend her strong play put her in the record books as she set the school's all-time record with 24 career assists, surpassing Kelly Vaughan '88, in the team's 4-2 win at Emory University.

After struggling to score despite a number of shots in its last few games, the women's soccer team once again found itself tied 1-1 in its University Athletic Association game against Emory University last Sunday at the end of the first half despite outshooting the Eagles 16-4 in that span.

With 21 seconds left in the first half of the women's soccer team's University Athletic Association opener at Case Western Reserve University last Saturday, forward Tiffany Pacheco '11 fired the team's ninth shot of the half wide of the net, failing to break the scoreless tie.


Volleyball: Team starts off hot

After losing the first game of its match against Springfield College in the finals of the Springfield College Invitational last Saturday, the women's volleyball team won its next two games and appeared to be on the verge of completing the comeback, leading 12-8 in the fourth game.But the Pride went on a 5-0 run to take a 13-12 lead and eventually win the set 25-23 to tie the match at two.


Women's Soccer: Team's first test is MIT at home

The women's soccer team has three straight wins against its first opponent this season, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including one in the 2007 semifinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Championships.
