VOLLEYBALL: Judges surrender big lead and lose to NYU

With a two-game lead and a 21-12 point advantage in the third game of its match against host New York University Sunday, it seemed like the volleyball team was well on its way to a winning record at last weekend's University Athletic Association round-robin tournament.

VOLLEYBALL: Three wins, one defeat at Amherst

The volleyball team breezed through the first two games of its match against Johnson and Wales College at the Amherst College Classic this weekend, but after the Judges fell behind 17-11 in the third game, coach Michelle Kim sensed a problem and called timeout to try to fix it."I wanted us to refocus and just finish the game," Kim said. Her strategy paid off, as the Judges rallied to win the game 30-23, clinching a 3-0 victory in the match.

VOLLEYBALL: One year later, same result

Playing in the same building that hosted last season's East Coast Athletic Conference championship victory, the volleyball team dominated in similar fashion. The Judges went 4-0 to capture the Brandeis Invitational Tournament championship at the Gosman Sports and Convocation Center Friday and Saturday, defeating Babson College, Rhode Island College, the University of Massachusetts at Boston and Smith College.
