It's a 'Desperate Struggle' to find fresh fun in this sequel
Let's face it, most video game sequels aren't exactly paragons of originality: Final Fantasy's writers are becoming progressively lazier with each installment in the series.

I did not want to see Daybreakers, nor did I want to like this supernatural adventure created by the Spierig Brothers.
When it comes to art, I am one of the unenlightened. If you try to talk to me about Rembrandt, I'll just go on a tirade about why I prefer Colgate (I feel very strongly about teeth whitening products). The only reason I know anything about Van Gogh is because I am morbidly curious about people who cut off their own extremities.
New York native Beth Bowman '10 did not turn away from the Middle East after Sept. 11. Instead, she strove to understand it."There was so much talk on the news constantly about Islam," Bowman said, "and I knew I was incredibly opposed to us going into Iraq.
Apparently, the word lying in The Invention of Lying describes the film's title as well as its supposed subject matter: If the title of Ricky Gervais' latest romantic comedy were to actually describe what the film was about, it would instead be The Invention of a Film Starring Characters Who Do Not Know When to Shut the Hell Up.After a brief description of the film's plot by the movie's main character (Mark, played by Gervais himself), Lying drops you into a world where "incapable of lying" apparently translates to "saying every little thing that ever comes to mind." Now, maybe I'm imposing on the film to an extreme degree my own standard of "truth," but this habit of Lying's inhabitants became so irritating so quickly that I just feel the need to verbally beat this plot point to death. To elaborate: Characters in Lying, even when not prompted by a question, will blurt out random details of their lives and their opinions on occasionally unrelated topics.
I was hesitant to go see The September Issue when I saw that the documentary wasn't narrated by Morgan Freeman.
Sometimes I feel as though Tim Burton doesn't know when to leave well enough alone.Don't get me wrong; the director's original fare is brilliant 90 percent of the time.
As a general rule, I avoid any film with trailers featuring men getting hit in the crotch, mostly because I enjoy movies that are original and don't rely on tired physical comedy.
Unlike some members of my generation, I've never been particularly nostalgic for the 1960s and 70s.
I did not go see Inglourious Basterds to observe how it differed from the 1978 Italian film of the same name, nor did I go see it because I was interested in Quentin Tarantino's take on the Second World War.
