MSOCCER: After ECAC title, men's squad hopes to reload

The men's soccer team surged down the stretch last year to win their first East Coast Athletic Conference championship since 1994 but to achieve similar success this season, the Judges will have to overcome the loss of several key players.The list of departures includes forward Mike Snyder '07, the most valuable player of the ECAC tournament, and midfielder Yuval Ezer '07, whom coach Mike Coven called one of the best players to ever play soccer at Brandeis.


TRACK: Casey meets benchmark for Nationals at Brown

In the 800-meter run at the Brown Springtime Invitational Saturday in Providence, R.I., Meaghan Casey '09 found herself in the same spot she was in her previous meet; seconds away from qualifying provisionally for NCAA championships.But after falling milliseconds short of the goal at the University Athletic Association championships April 21, Casey came through in this race, turning in a third-place finish in two minutes, 14.60 seconds to qualify provisionally for Nationals, barely satisfying the 2:14.70 benchmark."There was a lot less pressure going into this race [than there was before last week's race]," Casey said.


TRACK: Judges picking up speed heading into UAAs

In an early-season tune-up for the University Athletic Association championships, the outdoor track teams looked to be in mid-season form, overcoming adverse conditions to post a bevy of impressive individual finishes at the George Davis Invitational Saturday at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
