Library hours of operation reduced

The Goldfarb Library and Gerstanzang Science Library have reduced their hours by eight and 62 hours, respectively, in light of recent surveys conducted by Library and Technology Services.


University receives $1M gift to be used for existing scholarships

The University has received a $1 million gift to be used for scholarships and endowment investment, University President Jehuda Reinharz and Senior Vice President of Students and Enrollment Jean Eddy announced at last week's faculty meeting.Half the gift will be used for scholarships awarded to both current and future students who show an interest in the fine arts and humanities departments, according to Senior Vice President of Institutional Advancement Nancy Winship.


Jews and Muslims talk at JAM

Four preselected panelists spoke about their experiences on campus either as Jews or as Muslims and what they thought the other panelists' daily lives were like in the Brandeis environment at an event titled Jews and Muslims Session: Homies in Harmony III last Thursday.


Ayers visit postponed

CORRECTION APPENDED SEE BOTTOMDue to financial constraints regarding the security costs involved, an event that would have brought Bill Ayers, co-founder of the Weather Underground and current professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, to speak on campus yesterday did not occur and has been tentatively rescheduled for April 30, according to a member of the club hoping to bring Ayers to campus.The event was coordinated by students from Democracy for America and Students for a Democratic Society.


Bobo speaks about wage theft

Kim Bobo, founder of Interfaith Worker Justice, columnist for Religion Dispatches and author of several books, spoke about her new book and contextualized her ideas within Justice Louis Brandeis' life as part of an event sponsored by the Louis D.

Student Union President Jason Gray '10 announced in his executive officer report that the residency requirement that would change the requirement from seven to eight semesters was not passed at last Thursday's faculty meeting.Director of Community Advocacy Andy Hogan '11 announced that Spring Shuttle ticket sales are ongoing and will continue in the Usdan Student Center throughout next week.Hogan discussed the second edition of the Stall Street Journal, which is a Student Union publication placed in the stalls of Brandeis bathrooms to quickly inform students of projects that the Union is working on.Hogan also The Senate dechartered the Real Estate club, Disc Golf Club, Students Acquiring Social Skills, Up the Bean Stalk and Scuba Diving Club.Students Against the Judge Rotenberg Center, which was previously chartered, was recognized.The Voter Participation Act was passed by the Senate.
