An unforgettable live music experience

I've always believed that the true measure of an artist comes from hearing him perform live. So many times, I go to live shows and hear only carbon copies of the album I already purchased being lip-synched by an artist I adore, or, worse yet, find out that the "talent" associated with an artist should be credited with a studio, computer and some expensive equipment.


Collegiate Volunteers "rock" fashion

National Collegiate Volunteers aim to utilize the talents, attributes and skills that students develop in college for nonprofit organizations to help college students gain awareness of big-picture issues throughout North America and the world.The group organized and put on the Sustainability Rocks event last Tuesday evening in the Levin Ballroom, which consisted of a fashion show, concert by the up-and-coming band Keeping Riley and a dance performance by the campus' hip-hop group Kaos Kids.


Giraffes speak about music

Hosting a coffeehouse at Cholmondeley's last Friday and performing for the Fall Fest variety show last Saturday, a cappella group Rather Be Giraffes have proven to be a bunch of busy animals.


Finding time to direct with a busy schedule

JustArts: How did you decide to pursue theater after Brandeis?Deborah Finkelstein: Theater has always been my first love, so there was nothing to decide.JA: Did you participate in any plays during your experience at Brandeis?DF: I was in a couple Hillel Theater Group musicals, Penelope and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying as well of Taming of the Shrew with Hold Thy Peace.
