Students mourn pontiff

Following the death of Pope John Paul II on Saturday, members of Brandeis' Catholic community convened for three consecutive Masses devoted in part to remembering the life and works of the only pontiff most students have ever known.Over 40 students filled the Bethlehem Chapel Sunday night for the second Mass.


BTV says it needs an SAF boost to grow

Brandeis Television submitted an amendment to the Union constitution on March 7 that would more than double its annual funding while reducing the portions of the student activities fund guaranteed to Student Events, the Archon yearbook, WBRS and the Justice.The amendment, having received the endorsement of 15 percent of the undergraduate population, will be voted upon in the first round of the upcoming Union elections, Union Secretary Aaron Braver announced in a campus-wide e-mail last night.


Union looks to overhaul club financing

The Student Union government established a new task force charged with reforming club financing and the distribution of the $900,000-a-year student activities fund, as well as reviewing a wider range of Union government operations last week.The committee, which has dubbed itself AMP ("A More Perfect..."), is composed largely of Union officials as well as club leaders and Assistant Dean of Student Life Alwina Bennett.
